Ways to listen and learn
Further to last week's service, here are some ways we can 'listen and learn' from our first Nations People as we continue to walk together...
Drop in to Myrnong this Saturday to check out the Koorie Art Market. Visit the reconciliation garden and maybe come home with something that catches your eye while supporting Koorie artisans. If it’s rainy, grab your brolly, it’ll still be happening inside the building.
The First Nations film festival has been extended to 3rd August. You just sign up and stream ($38 for a collection of five films). Maybe invite some friends over for movie night…
Consider signing up to the email list of Uluṟustatement.org to hear regular updates from Professor Megan Davis & Patricia Anderson AO, Co-chairs of The Uluru Dialogue. Supporting the continuing journey of the Uluru Statement from the heart, their emails are a great way for allies to stay informed and hear of opportunities to continue walking together. There’s also a great section with book recommendations and occasional video links.
Take part in or sponsor Robyn Whitfield’s sleepout at Myrnong First People’s Gathering Place this Saturday night, 26 July 2025; to support the work of reconciliation and deliver funds for programs for local First Nations People and the wider community. If you’d like to sponsor Robyn directly, select the button to support a particular sleeper, and then use her name as a reference when asked.
Just a 13-minute walk from Ashburton Baptist Church @100High Street is the Myrnong First People’s Gathering Place (pictured above) with a wide-open invitation for all to come listen deeply in the reconciliation garden, open daily…WOMINJEKA.
