Psalms Writing Group
Write Your Own Psalms
A 5-Week Creative Writing Journey
Are you drawn to express your faith through words?
Do you find yourself wanting to write your own prayers and reflections?
Join us for a special writing group that runs alongside our Psalms: Sacred Imagination sermon series. Together, we'll explore the art of psalm-writing as we let these ancient prayers inspire our own contemporary expressions of faith, doubt, praise, and lament.
What We'll Do
Each week, we'll gather to:
Read and discuss the week's featured Psalm
Explore the craft of biblical poetry and prayer-writing
Write together in response to the themes and imagery
Share our work in a supportive, encouraging environment
Discover how writing can deepen our spiritual lives
No Experience Necessary
Whether you're a seasoned writer or someone who's never written prayers before, this group welcomes all skill levels. The Psalms themselves range from polished literary works to raw, emotional outpourings. There's room for every voice and style.
You don't need to be "good at writing" you just need to be willing to explore your faith through words.
