Ministry Development

Bruce grew up in the Essendon Baptist Church where his parents were members and where he began his own faith journey.

He was a secondary teacher of Mathematics before studying Theology at Whitley College. He was ordained by the Baptist Union of Victoria in 1978.

His experience includes pastoral ministry as well as roles in educational administration at secondary and tertiary institutions. Before commencing at Ashburton he worked overseas for nearly two years with Global Interaction as an Interim Team Leader.

Bruce is married to Pauline. Their interests include daily walks along the Scotchmans Creek Trail and being the Melbourne-based ‘motel’ for their children (and the grandchildren) who live in rural Victoria, Albury and Sydney.
