Our Thursday evening Amethyst Club continues to be a vibrant program for 6 to 12 year old girls.
We are committed to providing a safe, enjoyable and friendly club, in which primary school girls are accepted, loved and can grow in confidence, skills and into full and healthy relationships. Our basis and motivation for doing this is a Christian one. As a part of the overall life and work of Ashburton Baptist Church, we seek to serve God, and to teach the girls about His love for them, and for the whole world, by our example.
The program each term is a wonderful mix of sport, games, visiting presenters, craft, life skills, choir, hobbies, sleepovers, and (of course) food. It also includes some church activities - perhaps a drama for Easter, teaching the girls the Lord's Prayer, a scavenger hunt of the church, and prayers when someone is sick or has a special need. We hope all parents will be happy with this as our foundation point, and in fact will see it as something that positively distinguishes us from other clubs and activities.
