Rev Dr Geoff Pound (Senior Pastor)
Geoff joined the Ashburton Baptist Church staff in September 2012. He pastored churches in New Zealand before coming to Australia with his family in 1992. Geoff served the Victoria Baptists in a number of roles including Home Mission Superintendent, Director of Leadership Training, President of the Baptist Union of Victoria and Principal of Whitley College.
In the last seven years Geoff has worked as a freelance writer and teacher based in the United Arab Emirates. Geoff is married to Lyn who is an English Language teacher. They have a son who lives in Sydney and a daughter, son-in-law and three grandchildren in Melbourne. Contact Geoff
Rev Keren McClelland (Associate Pastor)
Keren joined the Ashburton Baptist Church pastoral team in February 2012, and comes to us from St. Kilda Baptist Church.
Keren works as a pastor across all ages and advocates for children and families, the arts, contemplative practices, and nourishing hospitality. She is an avid gardener who loves living in Melbourne.
Joe Pinkard (Young Adults Pastor)
Joe grew up in the Ashburton Baptist Church where his parents were members and where he began his own faith journey.
Joe is responsible for the coordination of the Thursday evening 'grow' service with the support of the grow committee. He also oversees Young Adult small groups and the Student House ministry.
He is passionate about seeking and living for Jesus Christ with other young adults during a life stage of transition and greater independence.
Joe is a keen soccer player, Hawthorn supporter, music and movie critic, and has recently discovered a new found interest in cycling.
Victoria Lamond (Youth Pastor)
Victoria is responsible for young people from grade 6-12. She works as a important link between the Childrens and Youth ministries assisting young people to transition in these often challenging years of change.
Victoria is involved in the youth small groups, Friday night youth and Sunday morning group either as a leader or offering supportive pastoral care amongst a team of volunteers. On Thursday mornings she heads down to Ashwood College where she participates in the ABC high school outreach ministry offering a free breakfast to the school's students.
Rev Ann Lock (WellSpring Director)
The Rev. Ann Lock joined us in August 2012 as our new WellSpring Director.
Ann and her husband Garry have recently moved to Victoria after 3 years in Canberra. Ann has pastored at Brunswick Baptist Church, worked with Baptist Inner City Ministries in Sydney, (now Hope St) and has a background in OH&S Nursing. Ann and Garry live on the Bellarine Peninsula and have a son and daughter-in-law living in Melton, a son and partner in Fremantle, WA, and a third son and fiancé living in Melbourne.
