Prayer Works
Ashburton Baptist has a prayer ministry that extends beyond the prayer life of individuals within the church. Currently, the main elements of PrayerWorks at ABC are Pre-Service Prayer, a Prayer Tree, PrayerCare, and Prayers and Squares.
Pre-Service prayer takes place each week in the WellSpring Chapel, 20 mins prior to the morning service. The focus of prayer during this time is to open the church community’s activities to the presence and power of God.
The Prayer Tree is a means of communicating prayer requests that are not of a confidential nature, to those within the congregation who have offered to pray. Most people receive these requests by email, but they can also be communicated by phone. Please contact the church office if you would like to receive weekly notification of prayer requests, or if you would like to request prayer. PrayerCare is a small number of people who meet fortnightly to pray for any prayer requests in which confidentiality is requested.
Prayers and Squares participants meet weekly to make prayer quilts as gifts for those with special prayer needs. The process of quilting and the knots that are tied represent the prayers of the quilters and the church community.
PrayerWorks provides the opportunity to join together in our connection with God, and enables us to be a blessing to those around us. If you would like to know more then please contact us at the church office.
