The Community Life and Care (CLAC) Ministry Team seeks to ensure that Ashburton Baptist is an hospitable place where there is "room" for everyone whether they are newcomers or long-time members of the community.

The team meets weekly with the senior pastor to share information and insights that endeavour to maintain a sense of belonging and being cared for. This may be through visits, phone calls, help with transport or a warm meal.

A team organises lunches for newly-arrived people at the church. Another team takes communion to those unable to attend on a Sunday morning. The CLAC team calls on others in the congregation who have their own informal networks and on Home Group leaders to get a picture of the needs and then decides on appropriate action in consultation with the pastors.

The team consists of Keryn Tole (leader), Anne Litchfield, Rev. Ken Luscombe, Graham and Jennifer Mollet, Cynthia Parry, Margaret Perrin and Julie Pigdon.
